A Course is the primary way to organize learning content. When courses are properly organized and linked together, users receive information in the correct order and better retain concepts.
Create a Course
Go to Learning > Click Courses > Click New
Overview tab
In the Overview tab, set the basic details of this course.
Start by giving the Course a name in the Course Name field. Title Alias is generated automatically, so this field can be left blank.
If this Course is to be opened to Learners immediately, make sure the Visibility field is set to Unlock. Setting the Visibility to Locked makes the Course viewable by Learners in their Dashboard, but not clickable.
Provide an External Link if this Course needs to link to another URL outside of Tovuti.
Choose the Category that this Course lives within in the Select Category field.
Create a brief Description.
Details tab
In the Details tab, designate if completion of this Course will Award Points to the Learner, the PointCategory, and the number of Points.
Select various images for this Course and set if this Course will be Available for Purchase and the Price.
If a Base Price is set, enable Pricing Modifiers to dynamically discount the Price on the Learner side.
Choose the Category to which this Course belongs in the Primary Category field.Admins may also select any number of Sub-categories, which allows Learners to find the Course through multiple categories.
Other tabs
Other tabs include:
- Permissions - set to which Learners this Course will be viewable and accessible
- Time Schedule - set Course open, close, and due dates
- Students - view Learner progress for this Course
- Lesson Overview - view the Lessons contained in this Course and their completion data
- Advanced Settings - configure a Final Course Survey, add an Event to the Lesson list, configure translations for buttons, and other settings on how Learners interact with this Course
- Content Library - choose uploaded content packages (SCORM, AICC) to be included in this Course
- Multilingual Overrides - select an override language for this Course
Click Save.
Set this Course to a Specific Brand
Click on the Permissions tab.
Scroll to Brand Visibility > toggle Specific Brands > select the brand(s) to be associated with this course.

Click Save.
Duplicate a Course
Duplicating courses makes quick work of creating a new course with only slight differences from a previous one.
Check the box of the course(s) to be copied > click Duplicate Course(s) > the new course will appear marked as (copy)
Change the Order of Courses in the User Portal
In Learning > Courses > click the blue arrow icon to enable reordering.
Click and drag the 3 dots button next to each Course to place a course in proper order.
Click the green check icon to save the ordering changes.
