Organizing courses will be paramount in keeping your LMS free of clutter and easy to navigate; not only for admins but users as well.
Go to Learning > Click Course Categories
A General Courses category appears in the Category list by default. To add a New Category, click on the New button.
In the Course Details, give the Category a name in the Title field. The Title Alias can be left blank as it is generated automatically.
Select if this Category has a Parent Category, or, leave the field blank if it is considered a “top-level” Category. If this Category is being used immediately, make sure the Published field is set to On.
Select a Thumbnail Image (suggested image size: 1450x300 px) for the Category and provide a brief Description.
In the Permissions tab, set which Learners can view this category. Visibility Permission is set by Access Levels, User Groups, or Specific Users.
If applicable, limit the visibility by Brand.
Click Save.
In the User Portal, the Course Categories page (configured through the Navigation Menu Item) shows Course Category Cards. Each card contains the following category information:
-
Total Courses
-
Assigned Courses - Completed
-
Assigned Courses - Incomplete
-
In Progress Courses
From the Courses page (configured as a User Portal module), Learners may filter by category.
