Just as Courses or Virtual Classrooms may be permissioned to users, Events must be permissioned to ensure only the proper users can access the correct Events. There are multiple places where Event Permissions are set.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Events - Access & Registration
In the Basic Information tab of the Event editor, view the Access & Registration section.
Registration Access sets which Groups can register for the Event.
View Access sets which Groups can preview the Event.
Event Categories
In the General tab the Category edit screen, set which User Groups have access to the Events within this Category.
Default Settings
In the General tab of Event Configuration, scroll down to Other settings.
Select User Group(s) for Default (View) Access and Default Registration Access, which determines the default values when creating new Events.
Course Events Permissions
When Events are added as Course Events or Event Lesson Activities, a Learner must have permission to both the Event and the Course.
Admins can select to Restrict registration outside of Course Events, which won’t allow Learners to access those events through the Event Module, only through Courses.
Admins may elect to Allow Learners to Register for all Course Events. If not, then Learners access through the Lessons view is limited to the specified number.
