Private Access Only
This feature is currently in Private Access stage and only available upon request from the Tovuti Support Team.
Private Access Features are functional new features that still require some development.
Tovuti Administrators can enable Promo Codes and Coupons, which are manually activated by learners during the checkout process.
Pricing Modifiers allow Administrators to create dynamic discounts that automatically apply to individual or groups of users
Pricing Modifiers apply to Courses and Events. Subscriptions may be supported in a future release.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Create a New Pricing Modifier
Go to E-commerce > click Pricing Modifiers > click New
Settings tab
In the Settings tab, give this modifier a Name and Status. Disabled modifiers don’t apply any discounts.
Set to which Users this Pricing Modifier applies. This may be applied to Individual Users or User Groups.
Users may apply to multiple modifiers, in which case only the modifier that provides the greatest net discount applies, i.e. modifiers don’t stack.
Modifiers tab
In the Modifiers tab, Admins select to which Courses and/or Events this modifier applies. By default, the modifier applies to No courses and No events.
Admins may select for the modifier to apply to Some events and courses, or All.
If Some courses is chosen, then Admins select if the modifier applies to individual Courses, entire Course Categories, or based on the values of Course Custom Fields (private release).
If Some Events is chosen, select if the modifier applies to individual Events, entire Event Categories, or based on the values of Event custom fields (private release).
Select the corresponding value to apply.
Discounts
Each modifier includes a Fixed or Percentage discount. After selecting the method, Admins input the discount amount.
Negative numbers aren’t accepted, and discounts can’t exceed 100%.
Fixed discounts that are greater than the price of the content result in free content.
Multiple discounts can be applied within a single Pricing Modifier. Each configured discount impacts different combinations of events and courses.
If a User, Course, or Event matches multiple modifiers, then only the modifier that applies the greatest net discount applies, i.e. modifiers don’t stack.
Example Modifier
In the example below, the modifier applies in the following ways:
1. All Users specified in the Settings tab receive a 25% discount on two courses: All About Tovuti and Becoming an Expert at Remembering Names. No discount is applied to any event.
2. The second modifier applies a $5 discount on all events in the Training category, and no discount applies to courses.
Learner Experience
In the Learner Portal, the Pricing Modifier is automatically applied to the price without the learner taking any action.
