Use Cases
The following are possible general use cases for utilizing this feature:
Tracking team training compliance across departments
A compliance officer at a large organization needs to ensure that all employees have completed required training and received the appropriate certifications within the last 30 days.
This feature is useful because:
Dashboards can be filtered by specific Courses and Certificates tied to compliance training.
Admins can set the Default Time Frame to “Past month” to track current completions at a glance.
Visual charts like “Courses Activity” and “Certificates Awarded” provide instant performance snapshots.
Example Use Case
The officer builds a dashboard focused on the “Data Privacy” and “Workplace Safety” courses, selecting only the “Operations” and “Sales” user groups. Every Monday, the officer reviews the dashboard to see which teams are lagging and follows up with team managers accordingly.
Measuring learner engagement in onboarding programs
An HR team wants to understand how new hires are progressing through onboarding materials and whether assignments are being completed in a timely manner.
This feature is useful because:
Admins can create dashboards focused solely on new hires (using User Groups like “New Employees”).
Tracking Last Activity and Assignment Completions helps highlight user engagement.
“Courses Average Completion” gives insight into learning progress rates across individuals or cohorts.
Example Use Case
The HR Admin builds a dashboard named “New Hire Onboarding – Past Week” and includes only courses tied to the onboarding path. They track Registrations, Last Activity, and Assignment completions, then send a weekly report to department heads with at-a-glance indicators of learner progress.
Presenting high-level LMS performance to stakeholders
A learning & development director needs to present monthly training impact metrics to leadership to justify investment and evaluate reach across the organization.
This feature is useful because:
Dashboards summarize key totals: user registrations, course completions, certificates earned, and platform logins.
Time filters (like “Past Year” or “All Time”) allow Admins to align data to reporting cycles.
Visual elements make it easy to present in slide decks or leadership reports.
Example Use Case
The L&D director sets up a dashboard called “Executive LMS Overview,” configured to show all users and all courses. The dashboard includes all chart types and tracks completions, last activity, and total logins. During quarterly reviews, the director shares screenshots to highlight increases in learning engagement and certifications earned.
