One of the strongest features of Tovuti is how easy it is to create engaging courses and lessons. This article outlines the entire process of creating content in Tovuti; how to create a Course Category, Course, Lesson, and fill that Lesson with different types of Content.
Categories contain Courses, Courses contain Lessons, and Lessons contain content.
This article outlines the following concepts:
- Create a Course Category
- Create a Course
- Create a Lesson
- Add Content to Lessons
- Lesson Content
- Create Interactive Content
- Create a Survey
- Create a Quiz
- Upload eLearning Packages
- Include a BizLibrary Resource
Create a Course Category
Course Categories are used to organize Courses so that when a Learner logs into Tovuti they quickly navigate to the Courses they’re looking for.
Course Categories is also an organizational tool for Admins. When editing or updating Courses, Admins know exactly where to go when filtering by Category.
Create a Course
Courses act as shells for Lessons. The Course shell lets Learners know, in broad terms, what they will learn throughout the Course.
Create a Lesson
The Lesson is where Learners receive instruction and perform activities that help them understand concepts. After clicking into a Course, a Learner accesses individual Lessons.
Lessons also include the capability to add an Instructor.
Add Content to Lessons
The content of a Lesson is where Admins provide instructions, add activities, or otherwise fill the Lesson with Learning Material. Tovuti provides a wide variety of content types, allowing for numerous customizations.
Adding Content to Lessons takes place in the Content and Activities tab of the Lesson editor. This tab is covered in the Lesson Activities Help Center article here.
Content can also be set to “Required for Completion.” This means that Learners must complete the activity before being allowed to the next Lesson.
Lesson Content
- Interactive Content
- Surveys
- Events
- Quiz (added to the Lesson from the Quiz editor)
- eLearning Packages
- BizLibrary Resource
Create Interactive Content
Tovuti’s library of Interactive Content engages Learners in a variety of ways, leading to increased Learner engagement and retention.
Some Interactive Content uses PowerPoints, PDFs, videos, and other previously-created content; and adds interactive elements making them more engaging for Learners. Other Interactive Content includes common games or activities that make learning fun; including word search, memory, image hotspot, etc.
Some Interactive Content Types require uploading a PDF document.
Create a Survey
A Survey is the primary way for organizations to gather Learner feedback. This feedback drives Course, Lesson, and Activity updates to constantly improve the learning experience and bring the best resources to Learners.
Create a Quiz
Tovuti Quizzes are used for Learner assessment and include robust reporting capabilities.
Note that a Tovuti Quiz differs from an “Interactive Content” Quiz.
Upload an eLearning Package
Administrators who have used an LMS before might have previously created eLearning packages that can easily be uploaded and utilized in Tovuti. eLearning Packages accepts AICC, SCORM 1.2, and SCORM 2004 eLearning Packages.
Include a BizLibrary Resource
For premium subscribers, Tovuti comes loaded with BizLibrary presentations and videos that cover a wide variety of topics from Business Skills to Workplace Safety. Including a BizLibrary Course is a great way to save time and vary a Learner’s experience.
After mastering the content laid out in this article, an Admin can successfully create a complete Learning Experience for their Users.
