Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) are connected servers that allow content (web pages) to be shared at higher speeds. Many CDN providers, such as Brandfolder, provide links that serve content like images, videos, and other assets.
Utilizing CDN links in Tovuti allows Admins to embed dynamic content that changes when the root CDN content is updated.
For example, a CDN link for presentation slides can be uploaded into Tovuti. Anytime the original slides are edited, those changes are automatically displayed in the LMS.
CDN asset links are uploaded in the Secure File Locker. From there, they can be used across the Learner Portal as Media Items.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Create a File in Secure File Locker
Go to Content Creation > click Secure File Locker > click New
"Link" File Type
For File type, select Link.
Paste the link in the Content link field and click Verify.
Upload CDN Link
Provide the content link with a Name and click Add link to add the link to the file list.
Include the Link in a Lesson
Secure File Locker items (in this case, the CDN Link) can be added to a Lesson in the Content & activities tab.
When one of the following activity types is selected, Secure File Locker can be selected for the file's location:
- PowerPoint Presentation
- PDF Document
- Video Player
- Audio Player
