Both users and administrators may occasionally need to reset their passwords for a variety of reasons, including best security practices.
This article outlines the following concepts:
How to Reset Your Own Password
Note* The option to allow users to reset their own passwords must be enabled by an administrator. If no password reset option appears to be available, please reach out to your administrator to enable this option or reset your password for you.
Administrators* To enable password reset on a Login Page, follow the instructions in the Help Center article here.
Go to the Login Page > select Password Reset
On the following page, enter the email address associated with your account, gain reCAPTCHA (anti-spam) verification, and select Reset Password
After doing so, the page should update to request a verification code, and you should shortly receive an email containing said verification code
In the email received, copy the verification code given to the previous page, or access the hyperlinked URL in the email
After the verification code has been provided, select Submit Verification
Once verification has been submitted, you should be able to enter your new password, confirm that password, and select Reset Password to finalize the request.
After doing so, the password for your account should be successfully updated!
Resetting Another User's Password
Note* only administrators can reset another user's password.
Go to People > User Manager > select the User
After selecting the user's account, enter a temporary password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
Then, enable the Require Password Reset toggle, and Save the user's account at the top of the page.
This will allow the user to log in one time with the temporary password set, and will require the user to provide their own new password upon login.
Note* the temporary password set will not be automatically provided/sent to the user.
