Here are the new updates we implemented this week:
New Feature
Learner Dashboard — Course Progress Filters Reset at Login
The redesigned Course Progress module on the learner dashboard now opens in a fixed default view on every login: Sort = Most recent, Category = All, Status = Incomplete. Learners can still change sort, category, status, and search, but those choices apply to the current session only. When the Incomplete view is empty because everything is finished, the module says so and offers a one-tap Show completed courses, and whenever a control is off its default a Reset filters link returns to the default view. This applies to sites using the redesigned Course Progress module, which is available upon request with your Client Success Manager or the Support team.
Why it's awesome:
A learner who switched to Complete or Self-enrolled to look something up can no longer come back days later to a view that hides their assigned work and conclude they have nothing to do.
Bug Fixes
- eLearning Packages — Fixed an issue where the confirmation shown when replacing a package file promised learners the new version, which is not what happens on instances without scheduled package replacements. The warning now describes the actual behavior and explains that archiving a learner's progress is what moves them to the new content.
- Notifications — Fixed an issue where the Learning Path Assigned notification's due date field rendered a malformed date when the assignment had no due date. It now renders empty.
- Sites — Fixed an issue where changing the default language for a specific domain reverted to the previous language when the site was saved.
- Compliance Dashboard — Fixed an issue where the "Lessons" label was missing when viewing a course and the "Courses" label was missing when viewing a Learning Path.
- Lessons — Fixed an issue where two Video Player activities in a lesson with Content Column Width set to 6 produced truncated player controls. The player now resizes to narrower columns.
- Login — Fixed an issue where the password reset form on the login page was only partially translated for users with a language other than English selected.
- Learning Paths — Fixed an issue where sub-administrators with Learning Path access on large instances saw page loads of 30 seconds or more. Learning Path pages now load faster for segmented sub-admins.
API Updates
- POST & PATCH — Dynamic Assignments: Dynamic Assignments can now be created and managed through the REST API. The API writes the assignment definition (header, content, audience rules, schedule, and linked award), and a background job applies everything derived from it using the same logic as the admin wizard, so assignments go live within about five minutes of creation. Requires the Dynamic Assignments feature on the instance; otherwise, the assignment stays in draft, and the request is marked failed.
