Here are the new updates we implemented this week:
New Feature
Courses — Learner Self-Enrollment
Administrators can now require learners to enroll in a course before they start it, so people are no longer enrolled just by opening a course or a lesson link. Turn on Require confirmation to enroll under Learning > Settings > Courses. Course catalog cards and course pages then show an Enroll button, lessons (including direct lesson links and SCORM content) stay locked until the learner enrolls, enrolled courses show an Enrolled indicator, and learners can unenroll themselves after a confirmation that shows their current progress. Courses that were assigned or purchased cannot be unenrolled. The setting is off by default. This feature is available upon request with your Client Success Manager or the Support team.
Why it's awesome:
Enrollment becomes a deliberate choice, so course rosters and progress reports show the learners who meant to take the course rather than everyone who clicked into it.
New Feature
Subscriptions — Cancellation Date in Subscription Reports
The E-Commerce > Subscriptions list and the Subscriptions reports now include a Subscription Cancellation Date column showing the day a subscription ended, whether the member cancelled it, an administrator blocked the user, the member deleted their account, or the grace period for a failed payment ran out. It appears in the subscriptions grid and as a selectable field in the Report Builder Subscriptions report, is empty for active subscriptions, and is included in CSV and Excel exports. Dates are recorded from the day this feature went live; subscriptions that ended earlier show a date only if the member cancelled them.
Why it's awesome:
Administrators can finally report on churn directly instead of inferring cancellations from payment or expiration dates, which misrepresented subscriptions cancelled well before their paid term ended.
New Feature
Workday Integration — Require Password Reset for Synced Users
The Workday integration setup now has a Require Password Reset on First Login option. When it is on, every new user the Workday sync creates must set a new password the first time they log in, for both manual imports and the nightly scheduled sync. Existing users are never affected. The option is off by default, so current integrations behave as before until an administrator turns it on.
Why it's awesome:
Organizations provisioning users from Workday can enforce their own password policy from day one without a manual follow-up for every new hire.
New Feature
Learner Dashboard — Improved Learning Paths View
Learners now have an improved way to view and manage their Learning Paths on the learner dashboard, completing the dashboard refresh that began with Course Progress and Checklists. This update is available upon request with your Client Success Manager or the Support team.
Why it's awesome:
Learners get one consistent dashboard experience across courses, checklists, and learning paths.
Bug Fixes
- Lessons — Fixed an issue where submitting an eSignature activity could show "There was an error uploading your file" in lessons that combined a PDF viewer activity, an attached file, and an eSignature activity.
- Sites — Fixed an issue where selecting a default language other than English for a site had no effect, and users still saw English by default.
- Login — Fixed an issue where the reCAPTCHA on the login page stayed in English for users who had selected another language.
- Dynamic Assignments — Fixed an issue where the profile field rule in the audience builder capped how many values its dropdown would show, so some values could not be selected.
- xAPI / LRS — Fixed an issue where opening the LRS settings page returned a server error on some sites, preventing administrators from configuring xAPI content.
- Completion Tracking — Fixed an issue where drilling into an org unit with child units in the Enrollments collections report hid the unit's own segments. Units with both now show Segments and Org units tabs.
- Completion Tracking — Removed the non-functional options (format choices, Current shares, Options, Quick Export, and Access/Privacy) from the Share modal on the Completion Tracking analytics dashboard, leaving the working link-share flow.
API Updates
- GET — Sort by Modified Timestamp: Every list endpoint that supports modified-timestamp filters now also accepts
sortByandsortDiron that timestamp, so integrations can process the most recently changed records first. - POST & PATCH — Team: The Team endpoints now support the "Assign Media Items" Team Lead permission, so integrations that create or update User Teams can set it without a trip to the admin panel.
- GET — Community Group Activity: New endpoints expose Community Group posts and comments, letting integrations read community activity for engagement reporting or syndication.
