Here are the new updates we implemented this week:
New Feature
Global Search — Learning Paths in Search Results
Learners can now find Learning Paths by name in the search bar at the top of the learner site. Type three or more characters of a path's title and matching paths appear in their own Learning Paths section after Courses, Lessons, Media, Checklists, and Blog Posts; selecting a result opens the path directly, and "Show more" reveals additional matches. Results follow each learner's existing access rules, including paths assigned through Dynamic Assignments. The section appears only on sites with the Learning Paths feature.
Why it's awesome:
Learners reach a whole program as easily as a single course, instead of hunting for the path that contains the course they searched for.
New Feature
Completion Tracking — Its Own Menu Item and Collection Setup
Completion Tracking is now a dedicated page under Learning, directly below Dynamic Assignments. Collection setup has moved here from the Dynamic Assignments page, so related assignments can be grouped into named collections and reported on together. The toolbar offers Configure Collections and Share; before any collections exist, the page shows a single prompt to get started, and inline prompts appear where setup is still incomplete. This feature is part of Dynamic Assignments; please reach out to your Client Success Manager if you would like to enable it.
Why it's awesome:
Administrators have one obvious place to set up and read completion dashboards, and the Dynamic Assignments page stays focused on building assignments.
New Feature
Transcripts — Show Only Completed and In-Progress Courses
Learner transcripts now show completed and in-progress courses by default. Courses that have not been started, and courses that are incomplete and past their due date, are hidden. Each hidden category has its own toggle under Learning > Settings > Transcripts (Show overdue courses and Show not started courses), so administrators can bring those courses back onto the transcript when they want them there. This feature is part of Dynamic Assignments; please reach out to your Client Success Manager if you would like to enable it.
Why it's awesome:
Transcripts read as a record of what a learner has done, not a list of everything assigned to them, while administrators keep control over whether overdue items appear.
Bug Fixes
- Subscriptions — Fixed an issue where auto-renew subscription plans were never renewed, and a missed nightly run left the subscription active but unbilled. The billing run now catches up on missed renewals, charging each period only once, and a member who ends one subscription keeps access that another active subscription still grants.
- Completion Tracking — Fixed an issue where the Enrollments dashboard's daily automatic refresh was not running, so administrators saw a "Data is 1 day old" warning until they clicked Refresh now.
- Completion Tracking — Fixed an issue where refreshing the Enrollments dashboard disabled existing share links. Links already emailed or embedded on portal pages keep working.
- Sites — Fixed an issue where a language chosen on one site carried over to another site, even when that site had the Language Selector off or did not offer the language. The site's configured default language is now shown.
- User Importer — Fixed an issue where removing every selected course in a user importer left the count reading "1 selected" until the importer was saved.
API Updates
- GET — Global Learner Search: Search results can now include Learning Paths as their own result type, alongside Courses, Lessons, Media Library items, Checklists, and Blog Posts. The API applies each learner's visibility and permission rules; existing result types and their ordering are unchanged.
- GET — Metadata Custom Fields (user profile fields): The metadata custom field definitions endpoint now accepts
objectType=users, returning user profile field definitions in the standard custom field format. Together with the matching values endpoint, integrations can read user profile fields and their values without relying on the deprecated custom fields endpoints. Requests that omitobjectTypeare unchanged. - Bug Fix — Metadata Custom Fields and Users/Events: Fixed an issue where the metadata custom field endpoints ignored
sortByandsortDir, and where the Users/Events endpoint omitted the registration ID.
