Here are the new updates we implemented this week:
New Feature
eLearning Packages — Schedule a Package Replacement
Administrators can now schedule when a replacement eLearning (SCORM) package goes live instead of applying it the moment it is uploaded. When uploading a new version, pick the date and time it should take over (in your site's time zone) and, optionally, the new package name to apply at the same moment. Until then, learners keep getting the current version. The package screen shows when each version was uploaded, when a scheduled one is set to activate, and when it actually went live. A failed scheduled update leaves the existing package intact. This feature is available upon request with your Client Success Manager or the Support team.
Why it's awesome:
Content updates can be queued during business hours and switch over automatically during low-usage windows, with no off-hours login and no loss of the package's identity, course associations, or accumulated progress and reporting data.
New Feature
Learning Paths — Course Breakdown on the Learner Progress Tab
On a Learning Path's Learner progress tab, administrators can now expand any learner to see every course on the path, with whether it is required and published, the learner's status (Not started, Incomplete, or Complete), progress, and the started, completed, and due dates. It works like the lesson drop-down on the Courses Learner Progress tab, including Expand All / Collapse All and a course filter.
Why it's awesome:
Administrators can see at a glance which courses in a path a learner has started or completed, and why a path at 100% may still list unfinished (unpublished) courses, without cross-referencing individual course progress by hand.
New Feature
Reporting — Historical Reports for Disabled Courses
Unpublished/Disabled courses now appear in the Filter by courses picker when building Education reports in Analytics > Report Builder, marked "(Disabled)" after the title, so administrators can pull archived activity and prior-year reports without re-enabling the course. Disabled courses remain unavailable to learners.
Why it's awesome:
This removes the old workaround of temporarily reactivating a course, which brought old assignments back to life and could trigger unwanted notifications.
New Feature
Learner Dashboard — Redesigned Course Progress and Checklists
The Course Progress section of the learner dashboard has been redesigned so learners can distinguish assigned, recommended, and self-enrolled courses and see assignment due dates and status at a glance, with status labels, sort, search, and filters. The Checklists section has also been improved, making it easier for learners to view and manage their checklist items. These updates are available upon request with your Client Success Manager or the Support team.
Why it's awesome:
Learners can tell what is required of them and when it is due from the dashboard itself, instead of opening each course to find out.
Bug Fixes
- Notifications — Fixed an issue where links in emails sent from Tovuti were rewritten to a tracking address that could trigger a security warning on machines with stricter security settings, including in system emails such as Community Group notifications.
- Blogs — Fixed an issue where a blog post assigned only to a child blog category returned a "Request body could not be read properly" error when opened.
