Content Creation
Step 1: Title
Use the text area in the top-left corner of the Branching Scenario configuration to Title the new Branching Scenario. This title is only visible to Administrators, Users will not see this title.
Step 2: Add New Content
To create new content, drag the Content Type you would like to use to the Drop Zone in the middle of the Branching Scenario editor.
After dragging the content type to the Drop-Zone, the editor for the selected type of content will appear.
Step 3: Add Branching Logic
To create different paths through the Brancing Scenario, drag and drop a "Branching Question" into a Drop Zone.
Add additional alternative answers to the Branching Question to create different paths that Users can take through this Branching Scenario.
Step 4: Specify what should happen if an Alternative is Chosen
After creating a Branching Question, there a 4 options that can be taken with each of the Branching Question's paths (answers). These options include:
1. Add Content
Just as when adding Content to the initial drop zone, drag and drop the Content to the Drop Zone under the Branching Question's answer.
2. Add Branching Question
Additional Branching Questions can be added to the answers of the previous Branching Question.
3. Jump to different Path
Within the configuration of the Branching Question, under the answer click the "Advanced Branching Options".
Set the "Special action if selected" field to "Jump to another Branch" and you can select the Content you wish to direct Users to if they select this answer.
4. End Activity
To configure a Branching Question's answer to end the Branching Scenario, click the "Advanced Branching Options" drop-down under the desired answer and select "Custom End Scenario".
Step 5: Add Existing Content
To use the same Content multiple times, select the content and click the gear icon, then click the "copy" button.
After clicking the "Copy" button, the selected content will be listed under the "Reuse Content" section of the editor.
Step 6: Feedback
When utilizing "Advanced Branching Options" within the Branching Question, you can configure custom Feedback that will appear to the User after selecting this answer.
Step 7: Intro Screen
To configure what appears to Users when starting the Branching Scenario, select the "Configuration" (gear) icon on the left side of the editor.
Click the "Start Screen" drop-down to configure the Start-Screen that appears when Users start this Branching Scenario.
Step 8: Scoring
Branching Scenarios can be configured to only utilize feedback, or configure scoring.
To enable scoring, select the "Configuration" icon on the left side of the editor (gear icon), and click the "Scoring" drop-down to configure how this Branching Scenario will be scored.
When Scoring is set to "Statistically set score for each end scenario", the author sets scores granted to Users for each End Scenario.
When Scoring is set to "Dynamically Calculate Score from user answers", scores specified in the feedback sections of the content items, branching questions and end scenarios will count.
