The Certificate Designer allows Administrators to create entirely custom or pre-defined, compliant certificates.
Awarding certificates incentivizes learners towards course completion and recognizes their achievements with a shareable certificate.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Create a New Certificate Design
Go to Learning > Click Certificate Designer > Click New
In the Details tab, give this certificate a Title and Description.
To include a custom Background Image, click Custom and upload an Image.
Click Show Options to customize the default verbiage, select a new font, or update the size or color of the field.
Customize the Certificate Design
Customizable text fields include:
- Header 1 Text
- Header 2 Text
- Introduction Text
- Recipient Name
- Sub Text
- Footer Left Top Text (above line), Footer Left Bottom Text (below line)
- Footer Right Top Text (above line), Footer Right Bottom Text (below line)
- Certificate ID
- Points - earned as an Award Action
Add Dynamic Merge Fields
Admins can add dynamic text to a certificate by using [brackets], as defined in the Dynamic Merge Fields tab.
Dynamic Fields include:
- Certificate Name
- User ID
- Date Issued
- Date Expires
- Course Completed
- Course Category
- All Published User Profile Fields
When the “Course Completed” or “Course Category” Dynamic Fields are used, the value is pulled from the Requirements tab of the Certificate (Award). If multiple values are pulled, they are listed and separated by commas.
Additional custom fields can be added to this list by creating new Custom User Fields.
Click Save.
Use Custom CSS
Admins can use custom CSS to move existing fields or add additional elements or styles to the page. Right-click the preview and click Inspect to gather the CSS data for this certificate. This is used in the CSS Styling Tab.
In the CSS Styling tab, paste any CSS from “Inspect” and then Edit the CSS Styling.
