Leaderboards are a gamification tool that shows how many points are being earned by other users. A leaderboard can be displayed on the Learner Dashboard or Team Lead Dashboard. Leaderboards offer a way for users to monitor their progress compared to others.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Add Leaderboard to a Learner Dashboard
A Leaderboard in the Learner Dashboard displays to users how they are progressing relative to other users on the LMS. This can inspire friendly competition among learners.
Go to Design > click User Dashboards > select an existing dashboard
Stay in the Learner Dashboard tab.
Title Text
Scroll down. Enable Show Leaderboard and, if necessary, provide a custom Title text.
“Title Text” in the Learner View:
Max Users Shown
Input a Maximum number of users shown in the leaderboard.
Max Users Shown in the Learner View:
Click the “+” button.
The maximum number of users is shown based on the configuration.
Number of Points Earned
Select if the Number of points earned by other users is shown.
Number of Points Earned in the Learner View:
Point Categories Shown
Select if the leaderboard Includes all point categories. The points are totaled and shown as a single number.
If Include all point categories is disabled, select which Point categories are totaled and displayed.
Only Show Team Members
Select if the leaderboard should only show users from the same team.
Add the Leaderboard to a Team Lead Dashboard
A Leaderboard in the Team Lead Dashboard helps the Team Lead be aware of their members’ progress. This helps gauge which learners need additional attention or instruction.
Go to Design > click User Dashboards > select an existing dashboard
Leaderboard Default Amount
In the Team Lead Dashboard tab, enable Show team leaderboard.
Set a Leaderboard default amount. This is the number of users the leaderboard shows in its default view, before being expanded.
In the Team Lead Dashboard, the Leaderboard is shown in the right corner with up to the default number of users.
Leaderboard Max Amount
Set a Leaderboard max amount. This is the maximum number of users the leaderboard shows when expanded.
Leaderboard Max Amount in the Team Lead view:
Click the “+” button.
A slide-out window is expanded to show the maximum number of users.
