eLearning Packages, including SCORM, AICC, and xAPI, allow Administrators to upload previously-created learning material to utilize in Tovuti.
Admins who utilize numerous eLearning Packages may bulk upload multiple files at a time to streamline the process.
This article outlines the following concepts:
Go to Content Creation > click eLearning Packages > click Bulk Import
Bulk Import Settings
Click Settings to configure the default settings for all packages included in the import.
Set a SCORM Frame Height and Learner Name Format.
If Expiration Reporting is enabled, select an Expiration Date.
Auto-generate a Course
Auto Generate Course allows Administrators to create a new Course for every imported eLearning Package.
When toggled to Yes, select the configurations similar to when creating a Course, like Category, Thumbnail, and Course Cover.
Select to Publish all courses and to make Available to Purchase. If so, then select a Course Price.
Select the Course permissions and click Save.
Process the Bulk Import
Click Browse to select a .zip file from the computer or device. Select a file from the device and click Upload to process the bulk import.
The maximum .zip file size is 5GB.
After successfully uploading, all Settings are applied to the imported eLearning Packages. Success messages and errors are displayed to the user.
Use Cases
The following are possible general use cases for utilizing this feature:
Corporate training rollout across multiple departments
A Learning & Development manager at a large company needs to roll out mandatory compliance training to several departments—including courses on cybersecurity, workplace safety, and diversity training—all of which are packaged as SCORM files.
This feature is useful because:
-
Bulk upload allows the Admin to import all SCORM packages at once instead of individually.
-
The Auto-generate Course feature lets them quickly create associated courses for each training module, complete with categories and pricing for internal chargeback models.
-
It speeds up deployment for required company-wide training with consistent settings (frame size, learner format, etc.).
Migration from a previous LMS
An organization switching from another LMS to Tovuti wants to retain their existing AICC and SCORM-based content library. They’ve exported all eLearning files and are now onboarding to the new system.
This feature is useful because:
-
Admins can bulk import dozens—or even hundreds—of zipped packages in one go.
-
By applying unified settings during import, the transition is seamless and doesn’t require editing each course manually.
-
It enables rapid system setup, reducing downtime during the migration period.
Third-party course providers managing client libraries
A training consultant who provides white-labeled eLearning content to various clients receives updated xAPI courses quarterly. They need to upload and organize them into client-specific categories.
This feature is useful because:
-
Packages can be imported in bulk and configured with expiration dates, ideal for subscription-based access.
-
Admins can auto-generate courses with branding elements like custom thumbnails and categories per client.
-
By selecting "Available to Purchase" and setting pricing, content becomes instantly monetizable.
