Administrators are able to verify when a Auto Notification is successfully processed.
This article outlines the following concepts:
View Notification
Go to Communications > click Notifications > select a previously created Notification
Notification History tab
Click the Notification History tab.
Data Points
The following data points are filterable and searchable:
- Recipient ID
- Recipient Name
- Recipient Email
- Date Sent
- Time Sent
Click Export to PDF or Export to Excel to download the available data.
The Time Sent field represents when the Email was added to the queue. This causes the timestamp to have slight differences from the Send Time set in the Schedule tab.
Use Cases
The following are possible general use cases for utilizing this feature:
Confirming that scheduled notifications were processed successfully
An admin needs to verify that automated reminders, such as assignment alerts or course due dates, were successfully queued and processed by the system.
This feature is useful because:
-
The Notification History tab shows who was targeted and when
-
Timestamp data validates whether scheduled emails were added to the queue
-
Helps confirm if the system executed as planned
Example Use Case
An Admin schedules an “Assignment Due” notification to go out at 9:00 AM. Later that day, they open the Notification History tab and verify that all 120 intended users were added to the queue with timestamps within a few seconds of 9:00 AM, confirming successful delivery.
Troubleshooting missed communications for individual learners
A learner claims they never received an assignment or event notification. The admin needs a quick way to confirm if the email was processed, sent, or missed.
This feature is useful because:
-
Notifications can be searched by user name or email
-
Filters make it easy to isolate specific recipients
-
Data exports can support deeper investigation if needed
Example Use Case
A user contacts support saying they didn’t receive the “New Compliance Training” assignment notice. The Admin searches their email address in the Notification History tab and finds the record, confirming it was queued at the correct time. The issue is traced back to a spam filter, not a system failure.
Exporting notification logs for reporting or audit purposes
An organization wants to track delivery of auto notifications tied to compliance training and maintain a paper trail for audits or performance reviews.
This feature is useful because:
-
History data can be exported as PDF or Excel for archival use
-
Helps meet documentation requirements for regulated industries
-
Can be used to assess system reliability or outreach efficiency
Example Use Case
At the end of each quarter, the Admin exports the Notification History for three critical training modules and includes the reports in a compliance packet. The data confirms timely outreach and supports the team’s internal audit preparation.
