Course Assignment Notifications

Tovuti provides different notification options when creating a Course Assignment. Notifications help Users stay up to date on their assignments and when they’re due. 

This article outlines the following concepts:

 

Create Assignment Notifications

Go to Communications > click Notifications > click New

In the Details tab, select one of the following Course Assignment Notifications in the Alert Type field. 

  • Course Assigned
  • Course Recommended
  • Assignment Due

The Selection Type field determines if this Notification applies to All Items (Courses) or Selected Items (Courses) Only.

Give the notification a Subject Title and provide a Course Assigned Message by clicking in the WYSIWYG editor. A default message is provided that can be edited or changed entirely. 

In the Course Assignment editor, ensure to select Yes in the Send Notifications field to enable Notifications.

When clicking Save, Admins are shown a confirmation notice when the assignment is saved. Admins can choose to Send a notification so that users can see all the updates or, save the assignment without sending notifications.

Course Assigned Notification

When the Alert Type is set to Course Assigned, designating Courses as Assigned triggers the Notification. 

If this Assignment includes specific dates, it is recommended to include these dates using the Dynamic Fields in the Notification editor.

Course Recommended Notification

When the Alert Type is set to Course Recommended, designating Courses as Recommended triggers the Notification

It is recommended to include information on why this Course is being recommended in the Message Body. For example,  the recommended course may relate to a previously-completed course.

Assignment Due Notifications

When the Alert Type is set to Assignment Due, Admins configure the Interval to Send field, which is relative to the Assignment Due Date.

Recommended Courses aren’t applicable to this notification, as they have no Due Date.

Multiple notifications must be created to send multiple reminder notifications about due Assignments, each with its own Interval to Send configured.
