Two-Factor Authentication provides administrators with an extra level of security when Learners log in to Tovuti. A “Factor” refers to the method used to log in to a user’s account; including passwords, physical objects, or a personal trait such as a fingerprint. Inputting multiple factors when logging in conclusively verifies the identity of the user.
This article includes instructions for enabling Two-Factor Authentication in the admin portal and user instructions for configuring their authentication tool.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Go to Configuration > click Security
Toggle “On” for Enable Two-Factor Authentication. Select which Authentication Method* is utilized.
*Note: If Mobile Authenticator App is selected, the following applications are supported:
*Note: YubiKey is a viable option if the organization uses Yubico and Learners have their YubiKey.
YubiKey is a physical USB-port plugin used to authenticate the device to which it is attached at the time of login.
Configure Two-Factor Authentication in the User Portal
Go to the User Portal > click the profile dropdown > click Security
*Note: the Security button will only be viewable to users when Two-Factor Authentication is enabled.
Mobile Authenticator App
If Mobile Authenticator App is selected, the Security page is viewed as shown below.
Click the orange “+” button to configure the Authenticator App.
The supported authenticator apps are listed.
Users are shown instructions for setting up their Mobile Authentication App.
If YubiKey is selected, the Security page is viewed as shown below.
Click the orange “+” button to configure the YubiKey.
